My littlest one just had his 9'th birthday yesterday.  He asked me if he had the day off school due to it being his birthday.  Now, he did have off but it was more to Easter / spring break.  But that got me thinking.....do you let your child have off on their birthday????  I know they won't in 'the real world', but we are homeschoolers w/ lot of flexibility!  So that is the question.


 "Do you give your child the day of school for his/her birthday?"

Spring is here!  Time to take our homeschooling outside!  Yippy!  Apologia is great for outside science!  We take our reading outside as well.  There is just something special about homeschooling while listening to nature.  The birds, deer, frogs, crickets.....wow.  Doesn't get better than this!

Exciting news today everyone!  I am really syked about this Language curriculum called Total Language Plus!  I am still checking into the details, but it looks like the child reads a book like 'Around the World in 80 Day's' for example, and the child has a consumable workbook for this particular book.  It contains grammar, spelling, literature, writing, etc.  This is a whole Language Arts curriculum in one.  I have a child who is in high school and we are tired of the traditional English text.  So I am pretty sure we are going to try this curricula this coming fall.  So check it out!
